Harris County Housing Authority

Harris County Resources for Children and Adults
Harris County Resources for Children and Adults was founded in 1966 as Harris County Child Welfare to provide support services for the children taken under the wing of the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. Fifty years later, Harris County Resources for Children and Adults still provides this support. But the now-county department has expanded services for early prevention, intervention and adult services.
Harris Health System
Harris Health System is a fully integrated healthcare system that cares for all residents of Harris County, Texas. They are the first accredited healthcare institution in Harris County to be designated by the National Committee for Quality Assurance as a Patient-Centered Medical Home, and are one of the largest systems in the country to achieve the quality standard. Their system includes community health centers, same-day clinics, three multi-specialty clinic locations, a dental center, mobile health units and two full-service hospitals.
Healthy Families Houston
The Healthy Families Houston program is a free, evidence-based, intensive, home visitation program offered through the Houston Health Department. Together, they help parents bring out the best in themselves by tapping into the skills they already possess. Their services empower parents to help children develop the social, emotional, and cognitive skills they need to succeed in life.
Houston Area Urban League
HAUL's mission is to enable Black people and other marginalized communities to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. They operate the following six (6) programs targeting residents in economically disadvantaged geographic areas in the Greater Houston areas: Education and Youth Development; Workforce and Economic Development; Workforce Training; Housing; Social Justice; and Health and Wellness Initiatives.
Houston Foodbank
The Houston Food Bank distributes food and other essentials to those in need through a network of more than 1,600 community partners. In addition, they also provide programs and services aimed at helping families achieve long-term stability including nutrition education, health management, and help in securing state-funded assistance.
Houston Health Department
They are a full-service health department that performs many enhanced functions to address health inequities. Their services benefit all Houston residents, but we also take additional steps to support those most in need, such as low-income mothers and children, the elderly, and minority populations.
Houston Volunteer Lawyers
Houston Volunteer Lawyers (HVL) is the largest provider of pro bono legal services in Harris County and the surrounding areas. Thousands of private attorneys volunteer their time and expertise each year to provide free legal assistance on civil legal matters to eligible, low-income area residents.
