Leap Frogs Class Assistant Teacher - Ms. Alessandra

Ms. Alessandra loved working with children. She had past experience babysitting infants through preschoolers, and volunteered every year at summer programs for deaf children. She was working towards her Bachelors of Art in Deaf Education from Stephen F. Austin University. She had already completed part of her internship for her degree, and spent several months working as a paraprofessional for middle and high school special education students. She loved playing games and making art with the children, and said that seeing their faces always brightened her day. In her free time she loved listening to music, spending time with her friends and horseback riding. She loved helping the children build language skills and introducing them to some beginner American Sign Language in the classroom. Several of our students have shared that their favorite memories with Ms. Alessandra were when she "shared her language" with them.
